Creating compact seating, I chose industrial felt as my primary material. Through exploration, cutting, and shaping, I gained a deeper understanding of its structure and qualities, which ultimately inspired the final form. Since the felt came rolled, it retained a cylindrical memory. Initially, the cylinder collapsed under weight, but by inserting a metal hoop just above the ground inside, I was able to reinforce it and prevent collapse. Fully glued and stitched with a bold pink thread during late-night work sessions, the saddle chair came to life.
